KILO Plus+: Nutrition for Healthy Weight Gain

A nutrition program for those who want to increase body weight through a balanced, nutrient-rich diet rather than simply eating more

    What Is KILO Plus+

KILO Plus+ is a DIKETO program for people whose goal is not to lose weight but to increase their body weight.

When we talk about nutrition programs, most of them focus on weight loss. However, some people have the opposite goal: they find it difficult to gain weight, feel full quickly, eat small portions, or simply do not know how to structure their diet so that their energy intake is sufficient for gradual weight gain.

The advice to “just eat more” does not explain much in this situation.

For weight gain, it is important to consider not only the amount of food but also total calorie intake, nutritional value, adequate amounts of protein, fats and carbohydrates, and a practical eating structure that a person can actually maintain.

This is exactly what KILO Plus+ was created for.

Why Do Some People Find It Difficult to Gain Weight

There can be many different reasons.

One person may have a small appetite, another may find it difficult to eat large portions, while someone else may regularly skip meals or choose foods that make them feel full quickly but ultimately do not provide enough energy.

Lifestyle, physical activity, individual characteristics, and eating habits can also play an important role.

At the same time, significantly low or unexplained body weight should not automatically be assumed to be caused only by eating habits.

If someone is losing weight without intending to or cannot gain weight despite adequate food intake, possible medical causes should be evaluated with a doctor.

KILO Plus+ is a nutrition program and does not replace medical diagnosis.

What Is Necessary to Gain Weight

For body weight to increase, the body needs to receive more energy than it uses over time.

This is known as a positive energy balance or calorie surplus.

However, a calorie surplus does not mean that a person should simply increase food intake without control.

The diet should remain balanced and provide not only energy but also protein, fats, carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins, and minerals.

The goal of KILO Plus+ is therefore not simply to add calories, but to increase the overall energy and nutritional value of the diet in a structured way.

Do You Need to Eat Huge Portions to Gain Weight

    No.

For someone with a small appetite, advice to double every portion can make eating even more difficult.

Large amounts of food may cause uncomfortable fullness, making it difficult to maintain such an eating pattern.

The energy value of the diet can be increased in ways other than simply increasing portion size.

Food choices, combinations, meal frequency, and the energy density of the diet all matter.

KILO Plus+ helps structure nutrition so that a person can consume more energy without constantly forcing themselves to eat very large amounts of food.

Can You Gain Weight by Eating Sweets and Fast Food

Theoretically, increasing calorie intake can lead to weight gain regardless of where the additional energy comes from.

However, the goal of KILO Plus+ is not simply to increase the number on the scale.

If a diet is built primarily around sweets, pastries, fast food, and highly processed foods, calorie intake may increase while the diet may still fail to provide optimal amounts of protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals, and other important nutrients.

For this reason, the program is based on nutritious foods and a sensible increase in overall energy intake.

Favorite foods do not necessarily need to be completely excluded. What matters is the overall structure of the diet.

Which Foods Can Help Increase Calorie Intake

To increase energy intake, foods can be selected that provide sufficient energy without requiring excessively large portions.

The diet may include meat, fish, eggs, dairy products, grains, rice, pasta, bread, potatoes, legumes, fruit, nuts, seeds, vegetable oils, and other foods.

For example, adding nuts, seeds, oil, or other nutrient-dense ingredients to a familiar meal can increase its energy value without making the portion several times larger.

However, the goal is not to find one special “weight gain food.”

Weight gain occurs as a result of the overall structure of the diet and sufficient energy intake over time.

Is Protein Necessary for Weight Gain

    Yes.

Protein is necessary for the body regardless of whether a person wants to lose, maintain, or gain weight.

It provides amino acids that are used to build and repair tissues.

Adequate protein intake becomes particularly important when weight gain is combined with strength training and the goal is also to support muscle growth.

However, KILO Plus+ is not a high-protein diet in which the entire meal plan revolves only around protein-rich foods.

Protein is one part of a balanced diet alongside fats and carbohydrates.

Do You Need to Reduce Carbohydrates

    No.

KILO Plus+ is not a low-carb or ketogenic program.

Carbohydrates can be an important source of energy and a normal part of a diet designed for weight gain.

The meal plan may include grains, rice, pasta, bread, potatoes, fruit, legumes, and other carbohydrate sources.

There is no need to eliminate an entire food group unless there is a medical reason to do so.

Why Are Fats Useful for Weight Gain

Fats have a high energy density.

This means that a relatively small amount of food can significantly increase the total energy value of a meal.

Nuts, seeds, vegetable oils, avocado, and other sources of fat can therefore be particularly convenient for people who find it difficult to eat large portions.

However, the same principle still applies: more does not always mean better.

Fats should be part of a balanced diet rather than the only method used to increase calorie intake.

Do You Need to Eat More Often

    Not necessarily.

Some people prefer three larger meals, while others find it easier to distribute their food across several meals and snacks.

If a person finds it difficult to consume a large amount of food at once, additional meals or snacks may help gradually increase total calorie intake.

The eating structure should therefore be not only calculated but also practical and comfortable.

What matters most is the total amount of energy and nutrients consumed throughout the day.

Can Drinks Be Used to Increase Calorie Intake

Sometimes this can be a convenient option.

People with a small appetite may find it easier to obtain part of their energy from a nutritious drink than to add another large serving of solid food.

For example, suitable milk-based drinks, smoothies, or other options that provide both energy and nutrients may be included in the diet.

However, these drinks should complement a balanced diet rather than completely replace regular meals.

How Quickly Should You Gain Weight

KILO Plus+ is not based on the idea of gaining as many kilograms as possible in the shortest possible time.

Very rapid weight gain does not necessarily mean a better result.

The goal of the program is to create conditions for gradual weight gain and establish an eating pattern that a person can realistically maintain.

The rate of weight gain can vary from person to person and depends on starting weight, calorie intake, physical activity, individual characteristics, and personal goals.

Consistent progress is therefore more important than trying to gain the maximum possible amount of weight within a few weeks.

Will All the Weight You Gain Be Muscle

    No.

Muscle mass does not increase simply because a person begins consuming more calories.

Muscle growth requires an appropriate training stimulus, sufficient nutrition, and recovery.

If someone increases calorie intake without strength training, it cannot be expected that all additional weight will be muscle.

This is where it is important to distinguish between KILO Plus+ and DIKETO Strong.

KILO Plus+ primarily focuses on increasing body weight and improving the nutritional and energy value of the diet.

DIKETO Strong focuses more specifically on muscle development, training, strength, and body composition.

Can Weight Gain Be Combined with Training

    Yes.

Physical activity can be part of a weight-gain program, and strength training is particularly important when a person wants not only to increase body weight but also to build muscle.

In this case, nutrition should provide sufficient energy and protein to support training and recovery.

If the primary goal becomes muscle development and body composition, DIKETO Strong may be a more suitable program.

Is KILO Plus+ Suitable for Women

    Yes.

KILO Plus+ is not designed exclusively for men or women.

People of any sex can experience low body weight or difficulty gaining weight.

The program is built around the individual's goals and nutritional needs rather than their sex.

Is KILO Plus+ Suitable for Someone Who Has Lost a Lot of Weight

    In some cases, yes.

After significant weight loss, a person may realize that they have lost more weight than intended or that they feel more comfortable at a slightly higher body weight.

In this situation, the goal may become gradual weight gain and an increase in calorie intake.

However, if the weight loss was unintentional, continues without an obvious reason, or is accompanied by a deterioration in well-being, the first step should be to consult a doctor and determine the cause.

How Is KILO Plus+ Different from DIKETO Strong

The two programs have different primary goals.

KILO Plus+ is primarily designed for people who need to increase their body weight and learn how to obtain sufficient energy from a balanced, nutritious diet.

DIKETO Strong is designed for people who specifically want to work on muscle mass, strength, training, and body composition.

The difference can be summarized simply:

I want to gain weight → KILO Plus+

I want to build muscle and work on my body shape → DIKETO Strong

When choosing a program, it is important to focus on the actual goal rather than only the number on the scale.

Who May Benefit from KILO Plus+

KILO Plus+ may be suitable for people who find it difficult to increase their body weight and want to organize their nutrition for gradual weight gain.

The program may be useful for those who eat small portions, frequently skip meals, do not know how to increase the calorie content of their diet, or want to move away from the vague idea that they “just need to eat more.”

It can also be an option for people who want to increase the nutritional and energy value of their diet and follow a ready-made structure rather than calculating everything independently and constantly searching for recipes.

When Should You See a Doctor First

If low body weight has no known explanation, it is important to understand why the weight remains low before focusing on increasing calorie intake.

It is particularly important to consult a doctor if you are losing weight unintentionally, continue to lose weight despite eating normally, or if weight loss is accompanied by weakness, digestive changes, a significant decrease in appetite, or other symptoms.

Changes in body weight are not always caused solely by eating habits.

In addition, people with chronic diseases, gastrointestinal conditions, endocrine disorders, or a medically prescribed diet should discuss dietary changes with their treating physician.

KILO Plus+ is designed to help structure nutrition and does not replace medical diagnosis or treatment.

Do You Need a Mass Gainer or Other Supplements

No. Sports supplements are not required for weight gain.

Calorie intake and the nutritional value of the diet can be increased using regular foods.

Mass gainers, protein powders, and other sports nutrition products may be convenient in certain situations, but whether they are needed depends on the individual's goals and overall diet.

The priority is to structure regular nutrition properly.

Supplements should complement the diet when genuinely useful rather than replace it.

What Is Included in KILO Plus+

Participants receive a ready-made nutrition plan designed to increase the energy value of the diet and support gradual weight gain.

The program helps participants understand how to structure meals, which foods can conveniently increase calorie intake, and how to obtain sufficient amounts of protein, fats, and carbohydrates.

Participants also receive educational materials that explain the principles of weight gain and help them apply this knowledge independently in the future.

The exact program content depends on the selected plan.

What Is the Main Goal of KILO Plus+

The main goal of KILO Plus+ is to show that gaining weight also requires a structured approach.

Simply being told to “eat more” is not enough.

A person needs to understand how much they eat, what their diet consists of, why their current calorie intake may be insufficient, and how it can be increased gradually.

The program helps participants move from random attempts to gain weight toward structured nutrition.

The goal is not simply to increase the number on the scale but to learn how to provide the body with sufficient energy and nutrients.

    How to Start KILO Plus+

KILO Plus+ is completed entirely online.

After receiving access, participants can begin studying the materials and following the ready-made nutrition plan.

The program can be chosen when the primary goal is gradual weight gain and the development of a complete, higher-calorie diet.

If low body weight appeared without an obvious reason or a person continues to lose weight unintentionally, they should consult a doctor before starting the program.

Current pricing, duration, and exact program content can be found on the KILO Plus+ page on the DIKETO website.
